Bio

Juan M Gonzalez is a Wildlife Biologist with the UC Davis Wildlife Health Center, where he serves as the Lead Biologist for the Tehachapi Mountain Lion Project and Northern California Wolf Project under the California Carnivores Program. His research focuses on the ecology, health, connectivity, and conservation of carnivores by using various technics to analyze movement patterns, habitat use, reproduction and disease in human-dominated landscapes. 

Juan joined the UC Davis Wildlife Health Center in the summer of 2001. He holds a degree in Wildlife Management and Conservation from Cal Poly Humboldt. His works involves collaborating with researchers, wildlife agencies and local communities to develop science-based conservation strategies that promote harmonious coexistence between humans and predators.
